Sodium Bisulfite:

The theoretical mass ratio of sodium bisulfite to hexavalent chromium is 3.06. The mass concentration of hexavalent chromium in water gradually decreases with the increase of the mass ratio of sodium bisulfite to hexavalent chromium. The theoretical mass ratio of sodium sulfite to hexavalent chromium is 3.64. The mass concentration of hexavalent chromium in water gradually decreases with the increase of the mass ratio of sodium sulfite to hexavalent chromium. When the mass ratio of sodium sulfite to hexavalent chromium is 5.49, the mass concentration of hexavalent chromium in the effluent is 0.38 mg/L, and the removal rate reaches 99.3%. with the increase of the mass ratio of sodium sulfite to hexavalent chromium, the hexavalent chromium in the effluent has little change.

The theoretical mass ratio of sodium hydrosulfite to hexavalent chromium is 1.67. The mass concentration of hexavalent chromium in water gradually decreases with the increase of the mass ratio of sodium hydrosulfite to hexavalent chromium. When the mass ratio of sodium hydrosulfite to hexavalent chromium is 4.11, the mass concentration of hexavalent chromium in the effluent is 0.26 mg/L, and the removal rate reaches 99.5%. with the increase of the mass ratio of sodium hydrosulfite to hexavalent chromium, the hexavalent chromium in the effluent does not change much.

Sodium thiosulfate

The theoretical mass ratio of sodium thiosulfate to hexavalent chromium is 1.34. The mass concentration of hexavalent chromium in water gradually decreases with the increase of the mass ratio of sodium thiosulfate to hexavalent chromium. When the mass ratio of sodium thiosulfate to hexavalent chromium is 8.82, the mass concentration of hexavalent chromium in the effluent is 0.45 mg/L, and the removal rate reaches 99.1%. with the increase of the mass ratio of sodium thiosulfate to hexavalent chromium, the hexavalent chromium in the effluent does not change much.

Based the above, also comparing the economy of reductants, sodium metabisulfite is the best reductant for hexavalent chromium.
