• Reductant: the main pollutant component in wastewater containing chromium is Cr6+, which mainly comes from industries such as the processing of ores containing chromium, metal surface treatment, leather tanning, printing, etc.. Sodium metabisulfite industrial grade (technical grade) as a reductant can reduce Cr6+ to Cr3+. Adjust the pH value of wastewater to 2-3, add sodium metabisulfite industrial grade (technical grade) to reduce Cr6+ to Cr3+, and then adjust the pH value to between 8 and 9, Cr3+ ions in the solution precipitate to produce Cr (OH) 3, after separating the mud and water, the sludge can be sent to the disposal center for treatment. After the treatment wastewater becomes clear, don’t need to filter when take samples for testing, resulting in less sludge generating and reducing treatment costs.
